DevastatedWe had arrived one week after the tornado hit Joplin, Missouri. I spotted her getting out of her
car, and her reaction to what she saw told me that this was her first time back since the disaster. I stood across the street — Iowa Street — and silently took a few photos while she walked around in shock. I learned later that day that her husband had died while she had escaped to go find help.
